Spring in bloom
This past weekend, Chris and I took a wine tour on one of the Finger Lakes - Keuka Lake to be specific. And we had such an amazing time! I want to share our wonderful experience with all of you.
I have done this one tour once before with a couple of my girlfriends, a few years back. So when I heard they were doing another wine tour on the lake, I told Chris I wanted to take him to experience the fun. On our way to start the tour, we stopped at a beautiful view point, that we visited back on our second wedding anniversary. We didn't know on our way to the tour that we would pass by this beautiful view, so it was a delightful surprise for us both. The view here is breathtaking. It is kind of funny because the last time we stopped at this view point, it was snowing, I mean blizzard style snowing, so we had no idea that the lake was down the hill. We just thought it was an open field that looked gorgeous covered in snow. All in all, it was a great way to start off the tour.
We stopped at 5 different wineries, tasted several wines and yummy snacks. We prefer deep, dark red wines, but most of the wines on the tour were rather sweet. Not that they weren't great, we just prefer darker notes. At each of the beautiful vineyards that we stopped at, we were fortunate enough to have a blissful view of the gorgeous lake. The weather was wam-ish and started the day out with sun and ended up raining through the second half of our tour. That did not stop us from having a fantastic day. It was definitely a day to remember.
Since the theme of this tour was "Keuka in Bloom" what better way to enjoy the theme than to dressing the part? I saw this adorable jumpsuit at Target a few days ago and knew I had to have it. It is the most comfortable jumpsuit I own! Easy to drive longer distances (the lake was about an hour and forty five minutes away from home) and easy to get in and out of the car for each stop we made. Since the temps were only in the 50's I knew I needed a jacket and this denim jacket (I've owned for years) matched perfectly with the chambray details of the hat! I couldn't have asked for a better, easy-going look for such a fun day!
I hope you all are having a fabulous week!
