Plaid Swing Dress for the Holiday's

I must admit, I am typically the Queen of Christmas (as my husband puts it). I start listening to Christmas music as soon as I possibly can (sometimes even in September). I just love the season of giving. I'm not one to enjoy receiving gifts, however I love to think of clever ways to give. And not to mention how magical this season can be with everyone all lit up in their best festive uniform and all the Christmas lights up and twinkling. It really is the best time of year!

With that being said, I now present to you, my version of a classy-casual holiday look! With everyones holiday season festivities all being oh so different, I thought I would share an idea for a very low-key, inexpensive outfit idea that could work for a casual dinner party, business-casual office party, cookie decorating, friends-holiday party and so on. This look is (again) very comfortable that you can last in all day or night, whichever your event will be taking place. It'll keep you warm in the cold but also give you the perfect amount of breathing room, in case the venue gets really hot.

The red in the plaid dress says "Christmas" as well as the velvet belt, while still being subtle with the black notes. Take your look one step further by either wearing your hair down (like me) for a touch of elegance while keeping the casual look or wear a high pony-tail. Without being too over the top and not getting too comfortable, through on your best heeled boots to keep the look classy. I always prefer an opaque pair of black tights (keeps your legs warmer) but if you wanted to make this look less casual, wear sheer black tights to give the illusion of a fancier get-up.

I hope you all are enjoying the first-sights of the holiday season! Stay tuned for many more holiday-filled posts! We just put up our Christmas tree and decorations yesterday so lots of holiday-esc stuff coming your way! Xo,
