‘It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas’ at our house! Since Thanksgiving is behind us, I am in full-swing of Christmas. I spent all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday decorating the house. We went Sunday afternoon to cut down our first full-size Christmas tree together and it was so much fun! Of course, we both have chopped down Christmas tress when we were kids, but we finally had a place big enough for a full-size tree. We named the tree “Jack-Frost” haha. I must say, the tree looked a lot smaller outside than it did in our house, it takes up like half of our room (Not really, I’m over exaggerating, but its a really big tree!)
Something about this time of year, that just makes everyone seem a little happier and friendlier. I love watching all the Christmas lights get hung and all the scents this holiday brings. Oh and lets not forget the amazing movies! I’ve already gone through half of my Christmas movie list, but that won’t stop me from watching them all again and again!
Anyways, as for holiday attire – everyone has the holiday classics; fur, velvet, sequins and plaid. Nothing says the holidays quite like a cozy flannel in your favor plaid pattern. As for me, I just adore the look of these plaid-velvet pants! When I saw these, I knew they were going to be a holiday staple. They are easy to transition into something a little more fancy or something more casual. This is more of a casual holiday look for me. Perfect for tree-trimmings, casual holiday dinner with your family or friends or even perfect for cookie decorating. An easy way to dress these pants up is by adding a black blazer with a sparkly camisole underneath and black pumps.
Since its the end of November, that automatically means its freezing outside. Sooo that means giant cozy ponchos are in! I love that ponchos are basically a publicly accepted blanket that you can wear and look all dressed up! Truth be told, I have so many ponchos and can’t say enough great things about them. They keep you warm, they look amazing on and dress up any outfit. I adore the toggles on this poncho, it makes the outfit look even more elevated.
I must admit, black is not generally a color choice I make for the holiday season. Typically, I try to stick to brighter, happier colors like creams, white, light pink, light green and so forth, you get the point. However, when I found these adorable black and red velvet leggings, I couldn’t resist them. I’ve been told not to be scared of black for the holidays since black makes you look more sophisticated. So I went a little outside of my comforter zone and have to be honest, I love it! Black will not become a staple in my holiday wardrobe, however I’ll be more open minded with it for the holiday’s!
Here’s a few silly ones from our tree-cutting adventure!
